It's been a crazy year and I have needed some distractions and I got them.
My Foster puppies along with my own mutts mean more to me than anything .
I have received messages from several of my pups and have even visited a few of them.
We had the most wonderful yet bittersweet visit with Tesla and Bentley.
Tesla and Bentley are sister and brother from the same litter and were adopted together.
Tesla got her name because from the beginning, she was always so quick and nimble, blasting from one end of the yard to the other as fast as she could go.
Bentley got his name because he always just calmly puttered around at his own speed.
Poor little Tesla. Her mama told me that Tesla has jaw cancer. Oh no, not sweet little Tesla!
I've been going through my own cancer so calm and strong, but when I heard about Tesla, I broke into tears. How could this happen to such a sweet little girl. Her Vet has given her 6-18 months and that was a bit over 6 months ago.
We went over to visit them and Tesla looked and acted like there was nothing wrong. Still just as cute and sweet as ever. You can be sure that we will be visiting her again before Puppy Heaven says it's time to leave.
I'm getting all teary eyed just writing about her.
The following week, we visited Diesel (now Rocky). I love that big handsome boy so much. Diesel and I have always had a special connection. He would sit next to me and flirt by leaning up against me and rubbing his head up and down my arm and lay his head on my shoulder giving me little kisses on my cheek.
When I scratched his back, it was like all of his bones turned to jello. He would melt to the floor and just lay there with a smile on his face.
My biggest fear was that he would not remember me. At first it seemed as though he had totally forgotten who I was, but after a while he seemed to have some memory of me.
And then he started giving me kisses, I can't tell you how much that made my day!
This is the first time we have seen him since his adoption. It was a fantastic visit being able to see that big boy again.
I also heard from Tyson and Murray. Tyson was from one of our first foster litters, we love that boy. He used to just lay on the couch and watch TV, a total couch potato. That has all changed, now he swims at the beach and is very energetic.
Tyson's mama contacted me a couple of years later asking if I had a puppy that wanted to be Tyson's brother.
I had the perfect boy for them...Murray.
Murray is such a sweet, non-confrontational boy. He always had the warmest, most gentle eyes.
We're going to try to have a visit with these two boys too. They moved to Oceanside, so it's like we're neighbors.
And then there's Chacha, such a beautiful girl. John's favorite pup. He never got over Chacha being adopted and still terribly misses her after all of these years.
Chacha was a totally out of control wild child when we started fostering her. I was able to significantly calm her down, but she still needed tons of work. Her family has done her right, she goes to training classes and is spoiled rotten by her family.
We love you Chacha!
